COFFEE SHOP BUCKET LIST

Writer: Brea FortBrea Fort

Hi, my name is Brea and I'm obsessed with coffee. Just kidding. I'm not obsessed with coffee–but I definitely love everything about it.

When I was younger, my grandmother lived with us and she had a cup of coffee everyday. Unfortunately she passed away January 1, 2009, but her love for coffee carried on to me.

Since being in college, I have learned how much I enjoy coffee and the experiences that come with it. From the home brewing systems, coffee beans, syrups, and shops–I love it all.

WELCOME TO ZOOM SCHOOL OF LAW

For those of you are new, I am a second-year law student at the University of Florida Fredric G. Levin College of Law. Due to the pandemic, I opted to do law school online last semester, which was brutal.

As the semester came to an end, and an impromptu trip to Tampa's Marriott Water Street, I realized how much I loved the flexibility of attending law school online. Although law school online isn't ideal, law school in person isn't the same either. Regardless of whether you're online or not, you meet with your professors via Zoom, and due to safety guidelines you can't be too close to your classmates.

Taking this Into consideration, I decided that attending law school online during the spring was the best option for me as well. I made a promise to myself that I would create a way to enjoy law school online, while also making my everyday life as normal as possible–given the state of the world.

With school starting next week, I have begun to workout, meal-prep, and plan more accordingly–this led me to the idea of creating a bucket list of some of the best coffee shops near me!

HOW THE BUCKET LIST WILL WORK

Since I'm online again this semester, I don't have classes Thursday afternoons or Friday mornings, and the work of a law student is never finished. I decided that I would take day trips to different coffee shops on the days that I have a light schedule; and when I have time for a mini (COVID friendly) weekend getaway, I'll try coffee shops in whatever city I'm in.

My theory: the excitement of trying a new coffee shop and being in a new environment will keep me mentally stimulated to not fill burned out from law school. (Did I mention we don't have any days off this semester!?)

THE LIST

As a planner, and a coffee lover, you know I've already started creating a list of places on I want to visit. This list includes some of the shops and co-working spaces I want to visit. Check out some of the shops and spaces I've listed so far!

What are your favorite coffee shops in Florida or Georgia, and where else should I visit!?
